BUTTERY CARAMEL ROLLS

- 1/3 CUP BUTTER
- 1/3 CUP FIRMLY PACKED BROWN SUGAR
- 1 TABLESPOON WATER
- 2 CUPS FLOUR
- 1/4 CUP SUGAR
- 2 1/2 TEASPOONS BAKING POWDER
- 1 TEASPOON SALT
- 2/3 CUPS MILK
- 1/3 CUP FIRMLY PACKED BROWN SUGAR
- 1 TEASPOON CINNAMON
- 1/3 CUP CHOPPED PECANS
Instructions
- PREHEAT OVEN TO 425°.
- MELT BUTTER IN A 9" SQUARE BAKING PAN, STIR IN 1/3 CUP OF BROWN SUGAR AND WATER, MIXING WELL. SET ASIDE.
- IN A LARGE MIXING BOWL, COMBINE FLOUR, SUGAR, BAKING POWDER AND SALT. ADD MILK ALL AT ONCE, STIRRING JUST UNTIL DRY INGREDIENTS ARE MOISTENED. TURN OUT ONTO WELL FLOURED SURFACE.
- ROLL OUT TO A 12 X 10" RECTANGLE.
- COMBINE 1/3 CUP BROWN SUGAR, CINNAMON AND PECANS. SPRINKLE OVER DOUGH. ROLL UP STARTING WITH 12" SIDE. CUT INTO 1" SLICES, PLACE CUT SIDE DOWN IN PREPARED PAN.
- BAKE FOR 18 TO 22 MINUTES OR UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN. TURN OUT IMMEDIATELY ONTO SERVING PLATTER. SERVE HOT.
