    TAFFY APPLE CAKE

    THIS IS VERY DELICIOUS.


    List of Ingredients


    • 1 1/2 CUPS SOFT BUTTER
    • 4 1/2 CUPS SIFTED CONFECTIONERS' SUGAR
    • 1 TABLESPOON VANILLA
    • 6 EGGS
    • 3 1/4 CUPS FLOUR
    • 2 TEASPOONS GROUND CINNAMON
    • 1 TEASPOON GROUND ALLSPICE
    • 16 DICED CARMELS
    • 1 1/2 CUPS COARSELLY CHOPPED APPLES, PEELED AND CORED


    Instructions


    1. PREHEAT OVEN TO 325°. GREASE A 10" TUBE OR BUNDT PAN.

    2. UNWRAP AND CUT EACH CARMEL INTO 8 PIECES. SET ASIDE.

    3. IN A LARGE MIXER BOWL, CREAM BUTTER, CONFECTIONERS' SUGAR AND VANILLA UNTIL LIGHT AND FLUFFY. ADD THE EGGS, ONE AT A TIME, BEATING WELL AFTER EACH ONE.

    4. GRADUALLY ADD FLOUR, CINNAMON AND ALLSPICE TO THE EGG MIXTURE. BLEND AT LOW SPEED UNTIL THOROUGHLY COMBINED. BY HAND STIR IN THE CARMEL PIECES AND THE CHOPPED APPLES.

    5. POUR THE BATTER INTO PREPARED PAN.

    6. BAKE FOR 85 TO 90 MINUTES OR UNTIL CAKE TESTER COMES OUT CLEAN.

    7. COOL UPRIGHT IN PAN FOR 15 MINUTES BEFORE INVERTING ONTO A SERVING PLATTER.

    8. SERVE CAKE WARM OR COOLED.

    9. YOU CAN GARNISH CAKE SLICES WITH ICE CREAM AND CARMEL SAUCE.

    10. THIS CAKE CAN ALSO BE BAKED IN A 9 X 13" BAKING PAN FOR 75 TO 80 MINUTES.
