- 1 PACKAGE PILLSBURY PLUS DEVIL'S FOOD CAKE MIX
- 1 CUP FLAKED COCONUT, TOASTED
- 1/2 CUP ROLLED OATS, TOASTED
- 3/4 CUPS MELTED BUTTER OR MARGARINE
- 2 TEASPOON VANILLA
- 2 EGGS SLIGHTLY BEATEN
- 4 ( 1 1/2 OUNCE EACH) MILK CHOCOLATE CANDY BARS
- 1/2 CUP FLAKED COCONUT
Instructions
- PREHEAT OVEN TO 350°.
- IN A LARGE BOWL, COMBINE ALL INGREDIENTS EXCEPT CANDY BARS AND 1/2 CUP COCONUT, BLENDING WELL. CHILL DOUGH FOR 15 MINUTES. FORM INTO 1" BALLS. PLACE 2" APART ON UNGREASED COOKIE SHEETS.
- BAKE FOR 10 TO 12 MINUTES OR UNTIL CRACKED AND SOFT TO THE TOUCH. IMMEDIATELY PLACE CHOCOLATE SQUARES ON TOP OF EACH COOKIE AND SPREAD TO FROST. SPRINKLE WITH COCONUT.
- 40 COOKIES
- TO TOAST COCONUT AND OATS, BAKE IN A PREHEATED 350° OVEN FOR 5 TO 7 MINUTES, STIRRING ONCE.
- FOR A CHEWIER COOKIES, OMIT TOASTING COCONUT AND OATS.
