SHORTBREAD COOKIES
I LOVE SHORTBREAD COOKIES AND MAKE THESE ALL THE TIME, ESPECIALLY FOR THE HOLIDAYS TO GIVE AS GIFTS FROM MY KITCHEN. IT IS A VERY SIMPLE RECIPE.
List of Ingredients
- 1 CUP SWEET BUTTER , SOFTENED ( 2 STICKS)
- 1/2 CUP LIGHT BROWN SUGAR, PACKED
- 2 1/2 CUPS FLOUR
Instructions
- CREAM BUTTER AND SUGAR TILL LIGHT AND FLUFFY. BEAT IN FLOUR UNTIL MIXTURE IS SMOOTH.( A PASTE CONSISTENCY)
- KNEAD THE DOUGH WITH YOUR HANDS FOR 10 MINUTES ( FOR A QUICKER WAY, I USE MY FOOD PROCESSOR FROM START TO FINISH )
- DIVIDE DOUGH INTO TWO OR THREE PARTS. ROLL BETWEEN 2 SHEETS OF WAXED PAPER TO 1/3 INCH THICKNESS AND CUT WITH COOKIE CUTTER, WITH A FORK, PRICK TOPS OF COOKIES. ( OR MAKE 1" BALLS)
- PLACE ON COOKIE SHEET AND BAKE IN A PREHEATED 300° OVEN FOR APPROXIMATELY 20 TO 25 MINUTES.
