SPINACH BACON SWISS QUICHE
List of Ingredients
- 1/2 CUP SOFTENED BUTTER
- 4 OUNCES OF CREAM CHEESE
- 2 TABLESPOONS HEAVY CREAM
- 1 1/4 CUPS FLOUR
- 1/2 TEASPOON SALT
- 2 CUPS SHREDDED SWISS CHEESE
- 3/4 CUP CHOPPED FROZEN SPINACH, THAWED AND DRAINED
- 1/2 CUP COOKED, CRUMBLED BACON
- 4 EGGS
- 1 1/3 CUP HEAVY CREAM
- 1/2 TEASPOON BASIL
- /2 TEASPOON MARJORAM
- SALT AND PEPPER TO TASTE
Instructions
- PREHEAT OVEN TO 350°.
- CRUST:
- CREAM BUTTER AND CREAM CHEESE WELL. BEAT IN CREAM AND WORK IN FLOUR AND SALT TO MAKE DOUGH. CHILL SLIGHTLY. ROLL PASTRY 1/8"THICK ON A WELL FLOURED BOARD, PLACE IN QUICHE PAN OR PIE PLATE. SET ASIDE. (OR IF YOU WANT YOU CAN USE A DEEP DISH FROZEN PIE CRUST)
- FILLING:
- PLACE CHEESE, SPINACH AND BACON INTO BOTTOM OF THE CRUST. BLEND TOGETHER EGGS, CREAM AND SPICES IN A MIXER AND POUR OVER MIXTURE IN CRUST.
- BAKE FOR APPROXIMATELY 50 MINUTES OR TILL SET. COOL 10 TO 20 MINUTES BEFORE SERVING.
