    CINNAMON SWIRLED BREAD


    List of Ingredients


    • 1 1/2 CUPS SUGAR, DIVIDED
    • 1 TABLESPOON GROUND CINNAMON
    • 2 CUPS FLOUR
    • 1 TEASPOON SALT
    • 1 CUP BUTTERMILK
    • 1 EGG
    • 1/4 CUP VEGETABLE OIL
    • 1/4 CUP CONFECTIONERS' SUGAR
    • 1 1/2 TEASPOON MILK OR MORE IF NEEDED


    Instructions


    1. PREHEAT OVEN TO 350°. GREASE BOTTOM ONLY OF A 9 X 5" LOAF PAN AND SET ASIDE.
    2. COMBINE 1/2 CUP SUGAR AND CINNAMON AND SET ASIDE.
    3. COMBINE CONFECTIONERS' SUGAR AND MILK UNTIL SMOOTH AND SET ASIDE. THIS IS THE GLAZE FOR THE BREAD.
    4. COMBINE FLOUR, BAKING SODA, SALT AND REMAINING SUGAR IN A BOWL.
    5. COMBINE BUTTERMILK, EGG AND OIL MIXING WELL. STIR INTO DRY INGREDIENTS JUST UNTIL WELL COMBINED.
    6. POUR HALF OF THE BATTER INTO PAN, SPRINKLE WITH HALF OF THE CINNAMON MIXTURE. GENTLY SPREAD WITH REMAINING BATTER AND SPRINKLE WITH REMAINING CINNAMON MIXTURE. TAKE A KNIFE OR SMALL METAL SPATULA AND MOVE AROUND THROUGH THE BATTER.
    7. BAKE 4O TO 50 MINUTES OR UNTIL A CAKE TESTER INSERTED IN THE CENTER COMES OUT CLEAN.
    8. COOL FOR 10 MINUTES BEFORE REMOVING TO A WIRE RACK TO COOL COMPLETELY. DRIZZLE WITH CONFECTIONERS' MIX.
