CHEDDAR DILL SCONES
List of Ingredients
- 2 1/2 CUPS FLOUR
- 1 CUP ( 4 OUNCES) SHREDDED CHEDDAR CHEESE
- 1/4 CUP FRESH CHOPPED PARSLEY
- 1 TABLESPOON BAKING POWDER
- 2 TEASPOONS DILL WEED
- 1/2 TEASPOON SALT
- 3/4 CUP SWEET BUTTER
- 2 LARGE EGGS SLIGHTLY BEATEN
- 1/2 CUP 1/2 & 1/2
Instructions
- PREHEAT OVEN TO 400°.
- IN A LARGE BOWL, COMBINE THE FLOUR, CHEESE, PARSLEY, BAKING POWDER, DILL AND SALT. CUT IN BUTTER UNTIL CRUMBLY. STIR IN EGGS, HALF AND HALF, JUST UNTIL MIXTURE IS MOISTENED.
- TURN DOUGH ONTO A LIGHTLY FLOURED SURFACE AND KNEAD UNTIL SMOOTH, APPROXIMATELY 1 MINUTE.
- DIVIDE DOUGH IN HALF, ROLL EACH HALF INTO AN 8" CIRCLE. CUT EACH CIRCLE INTO 8 WEDGES. PLACE 1" APART ON A COOKIE SHEET. BAKE FOR 15 TO 20 MINUTES ORUNTIL PUFFED AND LIGHTLY BROWNED.
