    CINNAMON BUN SCONES


    List of Ingredients


    • 2 CUPS FLOUR
    • 1 CUP OATMEAL
    • 1/4 CUP PLUS 2 TABLESPOONS SUGAR DIVIDED
    • 1 TABLESPOON BAKING POWDER
    • 1/4 TEASPOON SALT
    • 1 STICK COLD BUTTER CUT INTO 8 PIECES
    • 3/4 CUPS MILK
    • 1 EGG LIGHTLY BEATEN
    • 1 TEASPOON VANILLA
    • 1/2 CUP TOASTED PECANS
    • 2 TEASPOONS GROUND CINNAMON
    • GLAZE: RECIPE BELOW


    Instructions


    1. PREHEAT OVEN TO 425°. SPRAY COOKIE SHEET WITH NONSTICK COOKING SPRAY AND SET ASIDE.
    2. IN A LARGE BOWL, COMBIEN FLOUR, OATMEAL, 1/4 CUP SUGAR, BAKING POWDER AND SALT MIXING WELL. CUT IN BUTTER WITH A PASTRY BLENDER OR YOUR FINGERS UNTIL MIXTURE RESEMBLES COARSE CRUMBS.
    3. IN A SMALL BOWL, COMBIEN MILK, EGG AND VANILLA, BLENDING WELL. ADD TO DRY INGREDIENTS ALL AT ONCE AND STIR WITH A FORK OR RUBBER SPATULA JUST UNTIL DRY INGREDIENTS ARE MOISTENED.
    4. IN A SMALL BOWL, COMBINE REMAINING 2 TABLESPOONS SUGAR WITH PECANS AND CINNAMON, MIXING WELL. SPRINKLE EVENLY OVER DOUGH IN BOWL, GENTLY STIR BATTER TO SWIRL IN CINNAMON/NUT MIXTURE. ( DO NOT BLEND COMPLETELY).
    5. DROP DOUGH BY 1/4 CUPFULS 2" APART ON COOKIE SHEET. BAKE 11 TO 13 MINUTES OR UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN. REMOVE TO A WIRE RACK AND COOL 5 MINUTES. DRIZZLE WITH GLAZE OVER TOPS OF WARM SCONES AND SERVE.
    6. 12 SCONES
    7. IN A SMALL BOWL, COMBINE 3/4 CUPS CONFECTIONERS' SUGAR AND 3 TO 4 TEASPOONS ORANGE JUICE OR MILK MIXING WELL UNTIL SMOOTH.
