COMBINE FLOUR, SUGAR, BAKING POWDER AND SALT IN A LARGE BOWL, WITH A PASTRY BLENDER OR YOUR FINGERS CUT IN BUTTER UNTIL THE MIXTURE RESEMBLES CRUMBS. STIR IN EGG, HALF AND HALF, CRANBERRIES AND WALNUTS. TURN DOUGH OUT ONTO A LIGHTLY FLOURED SURFACE AND KNEAD 10 TIMES.
ROLL DOUGH TO A THICKNESS OF 1/2" AND CUT DOUGH WITH A 2" FLOURED BISCUIT CUTTER.
BEAT THE SECOND EGG AND BRUSH OVER THE TOP OF THE SCONES SPRINKLE WITH SOME SUGAR. BAKE ON AN UNGREASED COOKIE SHEET FOR 10 TO 12 MINUTES.
THESE SCONES CAN BE FROZEN AND THEN THAWED IN THE MICROWAVE.
