SOUR CREAM SCONES
List of Ingredients
- 2 CUPS FLOUR
- 1/4 CUP SUGAR
- 1 TABLESPOON BAKING POWDER
- 1/4 TEASPOON SALT
- 1 CUP PLUS 2 TABLESPOONS SOUR CREAM
- 1/4 CUP MINCED CRYSTALLIZED GINGER OR GOLDEN RAISINS
- 4 TEASPOONS SWEET BUTTER, MELTED
- 8 TEASPOONS PACKED LIGHT BOWN SUGAR
Instructions
- PREHEAT OVEN TO 400°.
- SIFT TOGETHER THE FLOUR, SUGAR, BAKING POWDER AND SALT IN A BOWL.
- COMBINE SOUR CREAM AND GINGER OR RAISINS IN A SMALL BOWL. FOLD SOUR CREAM MIXTURE INTO DRY INGREDIENTS, KNEAD BRIEFLY ON LIGHTLY FLOURED SURFACE.
- SHAPE INTO EIGHT 3 1/2" ROUNDS, LIGHTLY FLOUR HANDS BECAUSE THE DOUGH WILL BE STICKY. PLACE ON A BAKING SHEET SPRAYED WITH VEGETABLE OIL SPRAY AND BRUSH TOPS WITH WITH MELTED BUTTER AND SPRINKLE WITH BROWN SUGAR.
- BAKE UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN AROUND EDGES ABOUT 12 TO 14 MINUTES.
