2 TEASPOONS BAKING POWDER
1/4 TEASPOON BAKING SODA
1/4 TEASPOON SALT
1/4 CUP SUGAR
1/4 CUP CHILLED STICK BUTTER OR MARGARINE, CUT INTO SMALL PIECES
3/4 CUP LOW FAT BUTTER MILK
COOKING SPRAY
1/4 CUP QUICK COOKING OATS
1/4 CUP PACKED BROWN SUGAR
1 TABLESPOON MELTED BUTTER OR MARGARINE
1 TABLESPOON FLOUR
Instructions
PREHEAT OVEN TO 450°.
IN A LARGE BOWL, COMBINE FLOUR, BAKING POWDER, BAKING SODA, SALT AND SUGAR; CUT IN 1/4 CUP BUTTER OR MARGARINE WITH A PASTRY BLENDER OR FORK, OR 2 KNIVES UNTIL MIXTURE RESEMBLES COARSE MEAL. ADD BUTTERMILK, STIRRING JUST UNTIL FLOUR MIXTURE IS MOIST.
TURN DOUGH OUT ONTO A BAKING SHEET COATED WITH COOKING SPRAY. PAT DOUGH INTO AN 8" CIRCLE, SET ASIDE.
COMBINE OATS, BROWN SUGAR, 1 TABLESPOON BUTTER OR MARGARINE AND 1 TABLESPOON FLOUR; WORK THE MIXTURE UNTIL YOU FORM THE STREUSEL.
GENTLY PAT STREUSEL INTO SURFACE OF DOUGH. CUT DOUGH INTO 12 WEDGES ( DO NOT SEPERATE WEDGES).
BAKE FOR 15 MINUTES OR UNTIL LIGHTLY BROWNED. SERVE WARM. YIELDS, 1 DOZEN
