    Orange Frosted Cookies

    List of Ingredients




    2 cups (475 ml) sugar
    1 cup (225 ml) shortening
    2 eggs
    1 cup (225 ml) sour cream
    1 tsp (5 ml) vanilla
    5 cups (1175 ml) flour
    2 tsp (10 ml) baking powder
    1 tsp (5 ml) baking soda
    1 tsp (5 ml) salt
    3/4 cup (175 ml) orange juice concentrate, thawed
    2 tbsp (30 ml) fresh orange zest
    1/2 tsp (2 ml) orange rind
    2 tbsp (30 ml) orange juice concentrate, thawed
    1 tsp (5 ml) vanilla
    4 tbsp (60 ml) butter or margarine, melted
    1-1/2 cups (350 ml) confectioners' sugar

    Recipe



    Preparation
    Cream sugar and shortening.
    Add eggs and stir.
    Stir in sour cream and 1 tsp (5 ml) vanilla.
    Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
    Gradually add dry ingredients to the creamed mixture and stir well.
    Add 3/4 cup (175 ml) orange juice concentrate and 2 tbsp (30 ml) orange rind.
    Drop onto greased cookie sheets by tspfuls.
    Bake at 375 degrees (200 C.) F for about 10 minutes.
    Frost cookies when they are cool.
    To make frosting, mix the remaining ingredients together.
