I got this recipe from Linda C from IA at the recipe exchange at That Home Site Forums

I have all kinds of fancy recipes for beef tenderloin, but I still think the best recipe is just to rub the piece of meat with olive oil and crushed garlic and
roast uncovered in the oven at 425 until a instant read thermometer reads 135 to 140.....let it sit tented with foil for 20 minutes ( the meat will continue
to cook) slice and serve. That's been our Christmas Eve dinner for about 30 years.
