My mom's friend LaKay from Mead WA sent me this recipe in an exchange...


List of Ingredients

1 c. sugar
3/4 c. shortning
1 egg
4 TBL molasses
2 c. flour
2 t. baking soda
1/2 t. salt
1 tsp ginger
1/2 t. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves

Cream together sugar, shortning and egg until smooth. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Roll into balls and then sugar. Place on cookie sheet and flatten slightly with glass. Bake at 350* for 8-10 minutes. Makes two dozen.
