    Bicentennial Tea Cakes

    Makes 90 to 100 cookies


    List of Ingredients


    • 1 3/4 cups sugar
    • 3/4 cup butter
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla
    • 1 teaspoon lemon extract
    • 2 eggs
    • 3 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 3 teaspoons baking powder


    Instructions


    1. Cream sugar and butter. Add extracts. Add eggs and
      beat until smooth.
    2. Sift flour, salt and baking powder. Stir in to the creamed mixture and work together well.
    3. Make small balls of dough and flatten out on a greased cookie sheet and crisscross with a fork.
    4. Bake in a 400 degree F oven for 10 to 12 minutes.
