    Recipe

Sobameshi is Japanese fried noodles with rice which originated in the western region of Japan. Soba indicates buckwheat (chuka) noodles, and meshi means cooked rice in this dish.

Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok on medium heat. Fry meat (or veg) until change color. Add onion and cabbage and stir-fry until softened. Add noodles in the skillet.

Pour 2 Tbsp of dashi soup over the noodles and stir fry until the moisture is gone. Add rice and stir-fry until mixed well with other ingredients.

Pour Worcestershire sauce and stir quickly. Stop the heat.

Makes 2 servings. Recipe may be doubled. Also good make ahead dish you can freeze and reheat in microwave or oven for work or school.

Note from BL: be sure to check the gf status of all ingredients. Wocestershire sauce often has gluten. Soba noodles are often made from buckwheat blended with wheat flour for a milder taste. Be sure to read packet.
