    Steamed Asparagus with Ginger Sauce

    List of Ingredients

    2 lb thin asparagus
    2 tbsp gf soy sauce
    2 tbsp sugar
    2 tsp fresh ginger, grated
    2 tsp dark sesame oil
    2 tsp hot pepper sauce
    2 tbsp vegetable oil
    1 tsp white sesame seeds, toasted


    Recipe

    Steam asparagus until just tender and bright green, about 2 to 3 minutes.

    Drain immediately, shock in an ice water bath, and place in 13 x 9 inch (33 x 23 cm) baking dish to cool and to make adding the sauce easier.

    In a small bowl, place gf soy sauce and sugar.

    Whisk until sugar dissolves.

    Stir in ginger, sesame oil and hot sauce.

    Whisk in vegetable oil until vinaigrette thickens slightly.

    Pour vinaigrette over asparagus and toss gently to combine.

    Transfer to serving platter and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

    Serves 8
