    Butterscotch Brownies

    Recipe Introduction

    This recipe is TNT (tried and true).

    List of Ingredients

    1/4 cup margarine
    1 cup LIGHT brown sugar, (packed)
    1 egg, lightly beaten
    3/4 cup flax seed meal
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 cup coarsely chopped walnuts (we actually used pecans this time)

    Recipe

    Heat oven to 350 Melt margarine over low heat (watch carefully, can burn very easily).

    Remove from heat; stir in light brown sugar until lightly blended; cool.

    Stir in the egg. Stir (presifted & measured) 3/4 cup flour, baking powder, and salt together blend in.

    Lastly, mix in the vanilla. ("This can all be done in a big pot or bowl to make cleanup easier")

    Spread into well greased 8 x 8 x 2 baking pan.

    Sprinkle chopped nuts on top.

    Bake 25 minutes. DO NOT OVERBAKE!

    Cut in bars while warm.

    Makes 18 bars about 2 1/2" by 1".
