1 (15-ounce) can black beans, undrained
1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce
1 teaspoon grated peeled gingerroot
1/2 teaspoon grated orange rind
1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper
1 garlic clove, minced (adapt to your own test with more or less)
Recipe
Combine all the ingredients in a medium saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer, uncovered, 20 minutes.
Yield: 1 2/3 cups (serving size: about 1/3 cup)
