    Snapple Ice Tea Clone

    Source of Recipe

    Recipe Introduction

    author unknown

    List of Ingredients

    2 qt. (8 c.) water
4 tea bags (orange pekoe and pekoe cut black tea blend)
    3/4 c. granulated sugar
    1/3 c. plus 2 T. lemon juice

    Recipe

Boil water in a large saucepan over high heat. When water comes to a rapid boil, turn off heat, put the tea bags into water and cover. After the tea has steeped about 1 hour, pour the sugar into a 2-quart pitcher, then add tea. The tea should still be warm so the sugar will dissolve easily. Add lemon juice. Chill. Makes 2 quarts

BL's note: I love the Snapple Peach, so I had a packet of peach flavoured crystals and don't add the sugar until I have tasted it. Usually the flavouring is enough. These are powdered drink crystals like Tang, but generic. .................................
