    Sunflower Balls

    Source of Recipe

    Karen Tressler

    Recipe Introduction

From “The Good Goodies: Recipes for Natural Snacks ‘n’ Sweets by Stand and Floss Dworkin (1975)

    List of Ingredients

    1 cup sunflower seeds
    2 rounded Tablespoons honey

    Recipe

In your blender or grinder, grind the seeds down to a fine flour and dump the seed flour into a bowl.

Drip in about 2 Tablespoons of honey and with a fork, work the honey into the ground seeds until you have a cohesive mass. If your seeds won’t cohere, add a bit more honey and work in well again.

When very well mixed, spoon out teaspoonfuls of the mixture and shape into balls between the palms of your hands. With this little honey, the outsides of the balls should not be really sticky, and they may be placed right onto a dish for serving.

    Yield: About 20 1” balls.
