    Baked Oat Patties

    List of Ingredients

    1 3/4 cup boiling water
    1/4 cup gf soy sauce (or braggs' liquid aminoes)
    2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
    1 medium onion chopped or minced
    1 clove garlic minced
    2 cups steel cut gf rolled oats (see administrative note)
    3/4 teaspoon rubbed sage
    2 Tablespoons nutritional yeast
    1 egg ( or egg replacer like veggie puree)
    1/2 cup pecan meal (other nut meal can be used or try bean flour)

    For Casserole gravy:
    equivalent to one can of mushroom soup (recipe filed under soups & stews)
    1/2 can potato milk
    1/2-1 cup of mushrooms,as desired
    1/2-1 cup of walnuts to taste

    Recipe

    After oats have absorbed the boiling water, soy sauce, oil and onion, add the garlic, sage, nutritional yeast, well beaten egg, and pecan meal.

    Mix well.

    Form into patties.

    Brown both sides well in hot non-stick skillet sprayed with veg. oil spray.

    Cover and cook until firm.

    For Casserole:
    In small bowl combine mushroom soup and potato milk.

    Put browned patties in baking dish.

    Cover with gravy.

    Bake at 350 degrees until bubbly and starting to crust around the edges.

    Administrative Note: Some who are extremely sensitive to gluten have reported to still have a reaction to gf oats.
