    12-ounce package semisweet chocolate chips

    5 egg whites

    1/2 teaspoon salt

    1/2 cup sugar

    16-ounce packaged coconut

    1 teaspoon Passover vanilla or 1/2 teaspoon almond extract

    Recipe



    Preheat oven to 325.

    Melt chocolate chips in microwave oven. Cool.



    Beat egg whites until stiff; gradually add salt and sugar.

    Beat well after each addition.

    Fold in melted chocolate.

    Fold in coconut and vanilla.

    Drop dough by teaspoonful on ungreased, parchment-paper-lined cookie sheets.

    Bake exactly 14 minutes.

    They should be cool to the touch before they're lifted off the sheets.

    Makes 5 dozen.
