    Corn Free Powdered Sugar

    Source of Recipe

    Donna Rollison

    Recipe Introduction

Original idea from Lisa Lewis' book "Special Diets for Special Kids"

    List of Ingredients

    Granulated Sugar
    Tapioca Starch (Arrowroot Starch)

    Recipe

In your blender grind sugar until powdered texture is reached.

For every cup of powdered sugar add 1 Tbls of Starch.

    Whisk together.

Store in an airtight container in a cool place.

Donna's Notes: If you are not making frosting you can omit the starch if you like. When you use a sugar with a brown tint, such as turbinado, it will appear white when ground into powder, but will have a tint to it when you add liquid for making frosting etc... I would also like to advise that using your blender for making sugar might result in getting a cloudy pitcher from the sugar etching it. You may want to consider using a dry grinder to make the powder sugar. I use a magic bullet and have reserved one of the blending cups just for making powdered sugar.
