    14 oz. broth or milk substitute or combination
    5 T. rice flour

    Recipe



    Whisk ingredients in small saucepan off heat.

    Heat on medium heat in, whisking frequently, until thickened and bubbly.


    Notes: I don't like mushrooms, so when a recipe calls for cream of mushroom, I substitute my own version of cream of beef, using the recipe below with a combination of beef broth and milk substitute.

    Now I've never done this, but if you want a substitute for a can of cream of mushroom soup, you might try using a small can of mushrooms in this recipe. Maybe chop the mushrooms and add beef broth to the liquid in the can until
    you have 14 oz.
