DE kills bugs and larvae. It works well on bugs with exoskeletons. It works by cutting them and then they dehydrate. DE should be purchased at a HFS to be certain that it is safe for food, humans and pets. You can add it to human, pet or livestock food to kill intestinal parasites. Rub it into pet fur to kill/repel fleas and ticks. Adult humans can use 1 tbsp. per day for 10 days to kill intestinal parasites (and most of us have them). It must be a food safe variety of DE, otherwise it can cause cancer. The other type of DE is available at pool supply stores and is not safe for human and animal consumption.
