    Ice Cream Pail Refrigerator Pickles

    List of Ingredients

    Pickles:
    Enough thinly sliced unpeeled cucumbers to fill an ice cream pail
    3 thinly sliced large onions
    2-3 cloves of garlic

    Brine:
    4 cups sugar
    4 cups millet or rice vinegar
    2 tbsp pickling/coarse salt
    1 tsp tumeric
    1 1/2 tsp mustard seed
    1 1/2 tsp celery seed

    Recipe

    Bring all of brine ingredients to the boil and boil 5 minutes.

    Pour over ice cream pail filled with sliced cucumbers and onions. Stir.

    Cover and store in refrigerator.

    Stir everyday for the first 3 days.

    Pickles can be used in 3 days.

    Keeps indefinitely in the refrigerator.
