    Great Strawberry Pie

    Source of Recipe

    Tom Van Deman

    Recipe Introduction

Adapted almost completely from serving directions on side of Kroger glaze container by Tomv

    List of Ingredients

    1 quart strawberries
1 container Kroger brand strawberry glaze
    1 pre-baked gf pie shell
    gf/cf cookie crumbs (fine)
    gf/cf whipped topping (optional)

    Recipe

Wash, drain and remove stems from 1 quart strawberries.

Spread a thin layer of glaze* over the bottom of a prebaked pie shell, in a pie pan generously covered over with finely crumbled cookies, in a plain clean pie pan of preferably shallow class dish or tart.

Add the strawberries on top of this layer of glaze.

Spoon the remaining glaze over the strawberries that are in the pan on top of the first layer of glaze.

Top with whipped dessert, if desired.

    Refrigerate to enhance the flavor.

Kroger Glaze for Strawberries is ready to use as is. There is no cooking and no baking. This pie is delicious and is served by many restaurants in the Denver Area as well as other regions.

Tom's Notes: We usethe Kroger Glaze for our Strawberries almost exclusively although other brands are offered.
Kroger glaze can be used as toppings for ice-cream, meringue shells, shortcakes and cheese cakes.
Use the glaze as a filling for tarts, crepes, or jelly rolls. The glaze layered with vanilla pudding is good, also.
