    List of Ingredients




    1 pound bulk Italian sausage
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1/4 C red bell pepper, chopped
    1/4 C yellow bell pepper, chopped
    1/2 C yellow onion, chopped
    1-1/2 TBS oil
    1-(15 ounce) can black beans rinsed and drained (or 1-1/2 C dry, cooked & rinsed)
    1-(14-1/2 ounce) can diced tomatoes (or 1-1/2 C fresh, peeled)
    1-1/2 C frozen whole kernel corn
    1-(8 ounce) can tomato sauce
    1–(6 ounce) can tomato paste
    1 C water
    1 TBS chili powder
    1 tsp. dried oregano
    1 tsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. dried basil
    1/4 tsp. black pepper

    Recipe



    In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat oil and brown sausage, onion, garlic, yellow pepper and red pepper until meat is no longer pink, drain. Add remaining ingredients; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Serve with corn tortilla chips on the side or over hot, cooked white rice if desired. Garnish with grated GFCF Cheddar cheese substitute if desired. Yield: 6 servings
