    List of Ingredients


    • Syrup:
    • 2 cups brown sugar
    • 2 cups water
    • 2 tbs butter
    • Batter:
    • 1 cup brown sugar
    • 1 cup milk
    • 2 cups flour
    • 2 cups dates, chopped
    • 1 cup chopped nuts
    • 4 tsp baking powder
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • Whipped cream or cool whip


    Instructions


    1. For the syrup
    2. Combine 2 cups brown sugar & water cook together 3 min to make syrup.
    3. Remove from heat and add butter.
    4. For the batter
    5. Sift sugar, flour, baking powder & salt together.
    6. Add milk & stir until smooth.
    7. Fold in chopped dates & nuts blending well into mixture.
    8. Pour syrup in greased 13 x 9 baking dish. Pour batter on top of hot syrup & bake at 350 for 35-40 min.
    9. When cool alternate spoonfuls of date pudding with whipped cream.
