    you will never want plain black eyed peas after you eat these!


    List of Ingredients


    • 6 TO 8 SLICES BACON
    • 1C. chopped onion
    • 1c. chopped celery
    • 1c. chopped green pepper
    • 3(15oz)cans black eyed peas,drained
    • 1(16 oz) can whole tomatoes(undrained) chopped
    • 1(10oz) whole tomatoes and green chilies(undrained,chopped)
    • 1tsp. salt
    • 1/4 tsp. pepper


    Instructions


    1. Cook bacon in a large skillet until crisp; remove bacon, reserving dripping in skillet.
    2. Crumble bacon and set aside.
    3. Saute chopped onions ,celery,green pepper in drippings until vegetables are crisp and tender.
    4. Add reserve bacon ,black eyed peas and remaining ingredients and stir well.
    5. Bring to a boil,reduce heat and simmer,uncovered for 30 minutes.
