you will never want plain black eyed peas after you eat these!
List of Ingredients
- 6 TO 8 SLICES BACON
- 1C. chopped onion
- 1c. chopped celery
- 1c. chopped green pepper
- 3(15oz)cans black eyed peas,drained
- 1(16 oz) can whole tomatoes(undrained) chopped
- 1(10oz) whole tomatoes and green chilies(undrained,chopped)
- 1tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
Instructions
- Cook bacon in a large skillet until crisp; remove bacon, reserving dripping in skillet.
- Crumble bacon and set aside.
- Saute chopped onions ,celery,green pepper in drippings until vegetables are crisp and tender.
- Add reserve bacon ,black eyed peas and remaining ingredients and stir well.
- Bring to a boil,reduce heat and simmer,uncovered for 30 minutes.
