I'm a type 2 diabetic (diagnosed in 2004), and started the Four Corners Diet by Jack Goldberg & Karen O'Mara in June 2006 to get my blood glucose levels (bg's) under better control.
I lost 10 pounds my first week, and averaged 2-4 pounds per week after that. After I hit the 35-lb mark I had to start exercising to keep the weight coming off. No problem though, after losing 24 lbs I had my husband get my bike down from the garage rafters, hosed off all the layers of dust & webs, and hit the bike trails. I'm having a blast, and the weight continues to come off. ;)
And as long as I remain true to the diet, my post-prandial blood sugar readings never go over 150, and my fasting blood sugar readings have greatly improved and are generally under 110.
My mother-in-law has been very sick most of the summer and I haven't had as much time for this site as I would have liked. I update it as time permits.
