    Bittersweet Chocolate Truffle Squares

    Makes 4 dozen squares

    List of Ingredients




    3/4 cup whipping (heavy) cream
    1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter or margarine, cut into chunks
    3 tablespoons sugar
    2 packages (6 squares each) BAKER'S® Bittersweet Baking Chocolate, broken into chunks
    1/2 teaspoon vanilla
    1 cup finely chopped toasted almonds

    Prep Time 15 minutes
    Refrigeration Time 4 hours

    LINE 8-inch square baking pan with foil.

    MICROWAVE cream, butter and sugar in large microwavable bowl on HIGH 3 minutes until mixture comes to full boil, stirring halfway through heating time. Add chocolate and vanilla; stir until chocolate is completely melted.

    REFRIGERATE about 2 hours or until firm enough to handle. Sprinkle almonds in bottom of prepared pan. Spread chocolate mixture evenly over almonds. Refrigerate 2 hours or until firm. Cut into squares.

    Make-Ahead: Can be prepared up to 3 weeks ahead for gift-giving. Store in an airtight container between layers of wax paper in the refrigerator.

    Bittersweet Chocolate Truffle Balls: Prepare as directed, shaping mixture into 1-inch balls. Roll in cocoa, BAKER'S® ANGEL FLAKE® Coconut, cookie crumbs or nuts. Store in refrigerator. Makes about 2 dozen.
