Chocolate Toffee Bars

Crust:
1 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
Topping:
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 eggs
1 (6 ounce) package (1 cup) semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped nuts. Recipe
Heat oven to 350º. In small bowl, combine all crust ingredients; blend well. Press in bottom of ungreased 13x9 inch pan. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool 5 minutes or until slightly cooled. Increase oven to 375º.
Meanwhile, in medium bowl, combine 1 cup brown sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, baking powder and eggs; blend well. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Pour topping evenly over crust, spreading slightly if necessary.
Bake at 375º for 13 to 18 minutes or until deep golden brown and center is set. Cool 1 hour or until completely cooled. Cut into bars.
