    Fruit-Nut Bread

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 C. brown sugar, packed
    • 1 C. water
    • 1 C. dried fruit, cut up (apples, dates, apricots, figs, prunes, or raisins)
    • 1/2 C. chopped nuts
    • 1 T. butter or margarine
    • 1/2 t. salt
    • 1 t. baking soda
    • 1 egg, beaten
    • 2 C. all-purpose four


    Instructions


    1. In a saucepan, mix together the first 6 ingredients; stir over a medium heat until butter melts. Set aside.

    2. When cooled, stir in the soda, egg, and then the flour.

    3. Bake in a greased 9x5x3 loaf pan at 350 degress for about 1 hour.

    4. Cool on a rack.
