    2 pkgs yeast, disolved in 2/3 cup warm water

    2/3 cup brown sugar
    2 cups hot water
    1 1/2 tsp salt
    1/2 cup butter
    4 cups rye flour
    3 cups white flour
    1 cup cornmeal
    4 tbsp caraway seeds [optional]

    Recipe



    Combine brown sugar, hot water and butter. Stir until butter melts. Add yeast.

    Combine flours and cornmeal. Add to butter mixture. Stir with a spoon until mixed then turn un greased surface and knead until smooth. Place in greased, turning to coat on all sides.

    Let rise until doubled. Punch down and shape into 2 loaves. Turn into greased pans and let rise until almost doubled.

    Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour or until top is lightly brown and loaf sounds hollow when tapped.
