List of Ingredients
- 2 unbaked 9-inch (4 cup volume) deep-dish pie shells
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp. ground ginger
- 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
- 4 eggs
- 3 1/2 c. (29 oz can) LIBBYS pure pumpkin
- 3 c. (two 12 oz. cans) Nestle Carnation Evaporated Milk
Instructions
- Combine sugar, salt, cinnamon, ginger and cloves in medium bowl. Beat eggs lightly in large bowl. Stir in pumpkin and sugar-spice mixture. Gradually stir in evaporated milk. Pour into pie shells.
- Bake in preheated oven 425 degrees for 15 minutes. Reduce temperature to 350 degrees; bake for 40-50 minutes or until knife inserted near center comes out clean. Cool on wire rack for 2 hours. Serve immediately or chill. (Do not freeze as this will cause the crust to seperate from the filling.)
Final Comments
FOR 4 SHALLOW PIES, substitute four 9-inch (2 cup volume) pie shells. Bake pies, two at a time, filling shells just before baking. Bake in preheated 425 degree oven for 15 minutes. Reduce temperature to 350 degrees; bake for 20-30 minutes or until pies test done.
