    Fudge

    Source of Recipe

Louise Perry - grandmother of April

    List of Ingredients

    • 4 cups sugar
    • 6 Tbsp. cocoa
    • pinch of salt
    • 1 1/2 cups undiluted can milk
    • 3 Tbsp. white corn syrup

    Instructions

    1. Put margarine on paper towel and grease the pan you will use. This helps to dissolve the sugar crystals that can cause the fudge to go to sugar.
    2. Stir all ingredients together and start cooking in a sauce pan. Continue to stir until mixture comes to a full boil.
    3. Stop stirring. Be sure your pan is large enough so it doesn't boil over.
    4. As the fudge boils, it will cook down and you can test it by putting a small amount in cold water.
    5. If you can gather it up into a soft ball, it is usually done.
    6. Pour fudge into a heat proof bowl.
    7. Don't scrape the pan.
    8. Let bowl set until lukewarm.
    9. Add vanilla and start beating with a hand mixer.
    10. Pour into greased dish.
    11. Leave out cocoa for vanilla fudge.
