    Caramel Chocolate Squares

    • 50 caramels (14 oz bag)
    • 1 pkg. german chocolate cake mix
    • 2/3c. evaporated milk
    • 3/4c. butter
    • 1c. pecans
    • 1c. chocolate chips


    Instructions


    1. Melt caramels in 1/3c. of evaporated milk. In a bowl, combine cake mix, butter, 1/3c. evaporated milk, and nuts.
    2. Stir by hand. Press 1/2 of the dough into a 9x13 inch baking pan. Bake at 350 for 6-8 minutes.
    3. Sprinkle chocolate chips over crust. Spread caramel mixture over chips.
    4. Crumble remaining dough and spoon over the caramel mix. Return to bake for 15-20 minutes.
    5. Cool slightly. Refrigerate 15 minutes and cut into squares.
    6. Makes: 24 servings
