Chicken With Vegetables

2 carrots, sliced
2 onions, sliced
2 ribs celery w/leaves, chopped
3 pounds whole fryer
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup chicken broth
1/2 to 1 t basil
Put carrots, onions, and celery in bottom of crockpot. Add whole
chicken. Top with salt, pepper, liquid. Sprinkle basil over top.
Cover and cook on LOW 8-10 hours or HIGH 3 1/2 - 5 hours using
1/2 c liquid. Remove chicken and vegetables and serve.
