    Rub a well-trimmed 3 lb boneless beef bottom round roast with 1/4
    tsp each salt and pepper. Choose a sauce from the list below and
    mix the ingredients in a bowl. Pour half the sauce into the crockpot
    (4 qt or larger) add the roast and top with remaining sauce. Cover
    and cook on low 8-10 hours or until meat is very tender. Remove
    meat to cutting board, skim fat off top of sauce. Slice meat
    against the grain and serve with sauce. Serves 8.

    Italian
    1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
    3/4 cup chopped onion
    1/3 cup chopped carrot
    1/3 cup dry red wine or water
    3 tbl tomato paste
    2 tsp minced garlic
    1/4 tsp dried basil

    Chinese
    1 cup bottled stir-fry sauce
    1/2 cup orange juice
    chopped white part of 4 scallions
    1 tbl grated fresh ginger
    2 tsp minced garlic

    Mexican
    2 cups salsa
    1 can (4 oz) chopped green chiles
    1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
    1/4 cup water
    1 pkg (1.25 oz) taco seasoning mix

    Swedish
    1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup
    1 box (2.2 oz) beefy mushroom onion soup mix
    1 tsp dried dillweed
