Caramel Pie

2 c sugar
2 c milk
1/8 tsp salt
1/2 c flour, sifted
4 egg yolks, beaten
2 pie shells (8"), baked
In small iron skillet, caramelize 1 c sugar. In saucepan, put
remaining sugar, flour and salt. Mix well. Gradually add milk,
stirring constantly. Add eggs and stir over gentle heat until
mixture begins to steam. Add caramelized sugar, stirring quickly.
Cook until thick. Pour into pie shells and let cool. Top with
meringue.
