    List of Ingredients


    • 1c. (2 sticks) butter
    • 1/2c. shortening
    • 3c. sugar
    • 6 eggs
    • 1t. vanilla
    • 3c. all purpose flour
    • 1c. milk
    • 1 1/2c. coconut
    • Glaze:
    • 1c. sugar
    • 1/4c. (1/2 stick) butter
    • 1/2c. evaporated milk
    • 1t. vanilla
    • 1c. coconut


    Instructions


    1. For cake: Cream butter, shortening and sugar together. Add eggs, one at a time.
    2. Add vanilla. Add flour and milk alternate; mix in coconut.
    3. Bake in a greased and floured tube pan for 1/2 hr. at 275.
    4. For glaze: Boil all ingredients except coconut for 2 minutes.
    5. Add coconut. Spread mixture over cake and let cool.
