Gooseberry Pie

3 1/2 cups gooseberries
2 tablespoons tapioca, minute
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon grated orange rind
2 tablespoons butter, melted
Mix together and let stand 15 minutes. Line 9-inch pastry tin with
pastry, add fruit mixture, cover, slit in several spots to allow
steam to escape. Bake in hot oven, 450 F. 15 minutes and decrease
to moderate, 350 F. and bake 30 minutes longer.
