All-American Chili

2-pounds ground beef
1-large onion, chopped
2-cloves garlic, minced
3 to 5 tbsp chili powder
1-tsp salt
1-tsp dried leaf oregano
1 to 2 tsp Tabasco pepper sauce
1-can (8 ounce) tomato sauce
1-can (16 ounce) tomatoes
1-cup water
2-cans (16 ounce) red kidney beans, drained
In large saucepan, break up ground beef. Add onion and garlic; cook, stirring frequently, until beef is browned and vegetables are tender. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Bring to a boil; reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, 45 minutes (or until thickened), stirring occasionally. Serves 6 to 8.
