    Ingredients

    All-purpose flour
    Strawberry-flavored gelatin
    Baking soda
    Salt
    Fruit punch
    Vegetable oil
    Vanilla
    1 egg
    Frozen whipped topping,
    thawed
    Fresh strawberries

    Utensils

    Scissors
    Waxed paper
    Microwavable 8-inch
    round dish
    Dry measuring cups
    Medium bowl
    Long-handled spoon
    Liquid measuring cup
    Rubber scrapper
    Microwavable dinner plate
    Potholders
    Toothpick
    Heatproof serving plate
    Table knife or
    metal spatula
    Colander
    Paper towels

    Directions

    1. Using scissors, cut a piece of waxed paper to fit the bottom of the round dish.
    Set aside.
    2. Mix the following ingredients together in the medium bowl:
    1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
    1 package (3 ounces) strawberry-flavored gelatin
    1 teaspoon baking soda
    1/2 teaspoon salt
(You will be able to see small lumps even after stirring)
    3. Stir the following ingredients into the dry mixture in the bowl until well blended:
    3/4 cup fruit punch
    1/4 cup vegetable oil
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    1 egg
    4. Pour the batter into the wax paper-lined round dish. Put the micrwavable
dinner plate upside down in the microwave. Put the round dish on top of the
plate. Microwave uncovered on high (100%) 2 minutes. Turn the dish 1/2 turn.
Microwave 2 to 4 minutes longer or until a toothpick poked in center comes
out clean and the top is almost dry. Using potholders, remove the dish from
    the microwave.
    5. Let the cake stand uncovered on a flat, heatproof surface (not wire) 10 minutes.
    6. Ask an adult to help put the serving plate upside down over the cake. Hold
the plate by the round dish handles and turn both upside down so the cake
falls onto the serving plate. Remove the round dish and pull off the waxed
    paper. Cool the cake completely.
    7. Frost the cake with 1 container (4 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed.
    8. Refrigerate at least 1 hour or until chilled.
    9. Rinse fresh strawberries in a colander and gently dry with paper towels.
    10. Remove the strawberry stems if you like. Decorate the cake with the
strawberries just before serving. Refrigerate any remaining cake.

Hint: This cake will be the same color as the gelatin you use.
