    Nashville House Fried Biscuits

    Recipe Introduction

    When you work up biscuits, don't let them rise too high. The fat should be slightly hotter than 350 degrees. If the fat should be to hot, the biscuits will be soggy in the center.

    List of Ingredients

    • 1 qt. milk
    • 1/4c. sugar
    • 2 2/3 pkg. dry yeast
    • 1/2c. lard
    • 6t. salt
    • 7-9 c. flour


    1. Add yeast to warm water. Add other ingredients and let dough rise.
    2. Work into biscuits and drop into hot oil.
    3. Makes: about 7 dozen biscuits.
