    Grilled San Antonio Pork Roast

    Recipe Introduction


    An unexpected hint of sweetness along with the taste of chili powder make this smoky pork roast a winner.


    List of Ingredients


    • 1/2 fresh pork leg roast (3 1/2 to 4 lb)
    • 1/2c. smoky bbq sauce
    • 1/2c. grape jelly
    • 2t. chili powder
    • salt and freshly ground black pepper


    Instructions


    1. Preheat grill for indirect grilling. Season pork roast with salt and pepper.
    2. Brush grate with cooking oil. Place roast on grate, away from fire, and close grill cover.
    3. Combine bbq sauce, jelly and chili powder. After roast has been on grill 30 minutes, start basting with sauce mixture every 10-15 minutes until internal temp. of roast, measured with a meat thermometer, reads 155 degrees, about 30 minutes more.
    4. Remove roast from grill, cover with foil and let rest 10 minutes before serving.
    5. Serves: 6
