    Braised Beef Balls

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 1/4 lb. ground beef
    • 1 small onion, grated
    • 1 egg, beaten
    • 1t. salt
    • few grains pepper
    • 1/2t. dry mustard
    • 1T. horseradish, if desired
    • 2T. bacon fat


    Instructions


    1. Mix beef with onion, egg and seasonings. Shape into 5 or 6 balls and brown well in a heavy skillet containing hot bacon fat.
    2. Add 1 cup water, cover, and simmer about 30 mins. or until flavors are blended and meat done.
    3. Thicken liquid remaining in skillet, if desired, with 2T. flour blended with 1/4c. cold water.
    4. Add enough milk to make 1 1/4c. gravy. Serve hot.
    5. Servings: 5
