    Cheese Filled Salisbury Steak

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 lb. ground beef
    • 1/4c. crushed crackers
    • 1T. Worcestershire
    • 1/4t. pepper
    • 4 sticks cheese, 2x1 inch
    • 10 1/2oz. can beef broth
    • 1/2 broth can water
    • 1 large onion, sliced
    • 1t. cornstarch


    Instructions


    1. In medium bowl, mix lightly but thoroughly beef, crumbs, Worcestershire, and pepper.
    2. Shape into 4 patties. Enclose a cheese stick in each pattie, covering cheese completely and tightly.
    3. Brown patties in a little butter in skillet. In skillet with cover, bring broth and water to a boil.
    4. Add patties to skillet. Surround with onions. Cover. Simmer over low heat for 20 minutes.
    5. Remove meat. Blend cornstarch with a small amount of cold water.
    6. Stir into skillet. Cook, stirring until thickened. Add meat and heat if necessary.
